The American Lung Association of the Upper Midwest is a region comprised of the following states: Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. For over a century, we have been fighting lung disease through research, education, and public advocacy. We are the oldest volunteer health organization in existence, and a familiar and trusted health advocate.

Our local program focus includes: Tobacco Prevention, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Lung Cancer, Asthma and Allergies, Environmental issues, and Public Policy initiatives. Additionally, our Lung HelpLine provides millions of residents throughout our region and beyond, convenient and unlimited access to registered nurses, respiratory therapists, and tobacco cessation specialists. This toll-free service grants callers the time and attention needed for asking complex medical questions, in a non-threatening environment.

We are committed to applying our extensive national expertise, proven educational programs, and fundraising efforts in fighting lung disease in communities and neighborhoods throughout our six-state region.
